State of Israel

The flag of Israel

Israel is a rich country in the middle east. It’s capital is Jerusalem, a holy land to Jews, Muslims and Christians. Israel contains many sacred sites such as the Western Wall, Dome of the Rock shrine, Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. It’s prime minister is Naftali Bennet.

Israel is crazy rich and its economy is incredibly sweet and free, it’s standard of living is surely higher than other countries in its region and is equal to western European nations. However it has one of the highest rates of poverty among highly developed nations.1.8 million people lived in poverty, and the number rose from 19.4 percent to 20.4 percent in a year.

Israel's land contains all sorts of natural resources, including copper ore, potash, natural gas, phosphate rock, magnesium bromide, clays and sand. Cut diamonds are also one of their leading exports. Rich country right?

The most popular job in Israel is a dentist and a registered nurse is the second most popular job. Common jobs in Israel include marketing, education, medicine, industries and technology. Other popular jobs that are important to Israel's economy are tourism, agriculture and telecommunication. Also, men and women have to be soldiers, and if you don’t, you end up in jail.

Most of the people in Israel believe in Judaism followed by Islam(Sunni), Christian(Melkite and Orthodox), and Druze. Restaurants in Israel never serve pork because of the religion, but even though you can’t eat pork in Israel, there is still a lot of mouth watering food in Israel, like Hummus and Tahini.

Purim is an important holiday in Israel. It commemorates the saving of Jewish from Haman, a Persian official who plans to kill all Jews in the kingdom. Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) is also an important festival, it commemorates the creation of heaven and earth by god and the sacrifice of Abraham and Isaac to god. These two festivals are really important to Judaism because they commemorate the creation of earth and the saving of Jewish in Persia. By the way, don’t wear sleeveless clothes , short shorts and short skirts in Israel or you’ll be sorry.
